I’ve had the incredible opportunity to shoot weddings and projects from Hong Kong, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean to a number of the United States, and the ‘pinch me’ mentality never fades. As a matter of fact, it drives me.
How can I do this moment, event, or place, justice?

In the early days I’d down a handful of Tums and do breathing exercises to calm myself before I left for a wedding shoot or project. Oh, the pressure! But now I’m calm yet excited, primed to be an alert observer and creator. What happens happens, and I will be ready to document it as it unfolds, beautifully, completely in tune with the day. Intuitive and experienced. I’ve got this.
I’m sure my M.B.A. has come in handy but the education I have received since starting in my twenties with photographs of my own children, then friends’ children, then clients’ families, weddings, lifestyle magazines, travel projects, and then more weddings, was like getting a PhD in life. Shooting while navigating my own journey and better understanding connection, love, family, relationships, and what is truly important… well, it has all come full circle and is the circle.
